Celebrate International Day of Play with your school
On 11 June 2025, schools across the UK are celebrating International Day of Play with Right To Play.
By pledging to play on Wednesday 11 June, your school will highlight the importance of play for children around the world – and help us ensure that every child can claim this fundamental right.
Join the movement and receive FREE resources to help your pupils learn about the benefits of play and the challenges around the world that deny children this basic opportunity, including:
- Play activities and games
- Lesson and assembly ideas
- Inspiring stories from children who are fighting to claim their right to play in Africa, Asia and the Middle East
Plus, we’ll send a free prize bundle of puzzles, games and toys to the first 100 schools to pledge to play – so sign up soon for a chance to win!
Fill out your details in the form and pledge to play for your chance to win!

A Day Dedicated to Play
First celebrated in 2024, International Day of Play is a major milestone marking a global recognition of the importance of play. Right To Play is proud to be one of the founding organisations of the campaign for an annual day dedicated to play, which is recognised by the United Nations.
For 25 years, Right To Play has harnessed play to protect, educate, and empower children in some of the world’s most challenging contexts, helping them stay in school, resist exploitation, overcome prejudice and heal from the trauma of war and displacement.
As conflict, crises and climate disasters continue to drive millions of children into poverty and marginalisation – and as critical international development funding dwindles – children around the world need our support more than ever.
Please join us in raising awareness and urgently needed funds to support our global play-based programmes – programmes that help children learn, heal, and thrive, even in the most difficult circumstances.
With you and your school joining the global movement, we can send a powerful message to children worldwide: No matter where children are, or what challenges they face, they deserve the fundamental right to play.
